The Spanish Bilingual Education Association was formed to support and grow Spanish bilingual programs in Lethbridge public schools. Additionally, the SBEA conducts engagement and fundraising activities that benefit the Spanish bilingual programs in Lethbridge, Alberta.

All Spanish Bilingual Families are welcome to attend a special Fiesta in the Ecuadorian tradition of el año viejo (The old year)
December 10th 6:30 - 8:00pm
The evening will be full of fun family activities including building a manigote (a home-made doll that represents the old year). You will decorate your manigote and include items from home that represent the past year. There will be a competition to judge the decoration of the dolls ( silly, pretty, realistic, artistic etc.). Along with that we will have our usual dance floor with Latin music playing all night long. There will be some dance demonstrations and competitions as well. There will be snacks and prizes and many other fun surprises. Student work will be on display as well!
Donations are accepted at the door to cover cost of the event and to offset programing costs for the Spanish program at G.S. Lakie.
Feel free to invite friends and family but please let us know no later than December 8th so that we can adequately prepare for everyone.
